UPDATE 05/02/16 5:02 PM: Future will attend the Met Gala, reports FADER. Now let's just hope he performs like RiRi did last year.

See the original story below published on 05/02/16.

For the first time ever, the Met Gala red carpet will be aired live on television, thanks to E! News.

E!'s red carpet pre-show coverage will start at 7 p.m. EST, followed by the red carpet fashion at 7:30 p.m. EST. Previously, the red carpet could only be experienced via social media or paparazzi photos.

This year's Met Gala theme is dedicated to the crossover between fashion and technology. There will be over 100 pieces of haute couture and ready-to-wear pieces displayed that fall in line with the Costume Institute's exhibition, "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology." As always, Anna Wintour will host the event. Tonight's co-hosts include Idris Elba, Taylor Swift, and Apple's chief design officer, Jonathan Ive. Honorary chairs include Louis Vuitton designer Nicolas Ghesquière, Karl Lagerfeld, and Miuccia Prada.

It'll definitely be interesting to see how literally the celebrities in attendance take this year's theme. Kim Kardashian has already promised she'll be following the dress code.
