It looks like Kanye West and his Yeezy label are the latest to join the trend of breaking from the traditional fashion business model. It was just announced that the rapper’s Yeezy Season 2 collection will not be released this summer alongside the conventional spring/summer deliveries.
Hypebeast reports that the brand’s new president, Pete Fox, informed retailers via email that the collection “will not be produced in its entirety or launched following a traditional fashion calendar.” Fox goes on to elaborate that various pieces from the collection will be released throughout the calendar year as the label moves to a progressive season-less model. Luckily, sneaker heads won’t need to worry as stockists have been told the collection’s footwear is still scheduled for a global release on June 6.
Be sure to stay tuned for more official release dates and details surrounding the collection in the upcoming weeks.
