In anticipation of Kobe Bryant's final game, the Lakers have unveiled a special "24 Collection" paying tribute to his legendary career. But, fans who are hoping to cop some of the commemorative pieces better have some serious cash.
With the exception of a few graphic T-shirts, the collection is comprised of some pretty extravagant pieces from a snakeskin jersey for $424 to a lambskin jacket with Swarovski crystal detailing for $5,824—and those aren't even the most expensive items. A 59FIFTY New Era hat made of black lambskin with a 18-karat gold "24" on the front is priced at $38,248. It was designed as an ode to his "Black Mamba" nickname.
"This city is all about spectacle," Sean Ryan, vice president of AEG Merchandise the company behind the collection, told ESPN. "Derek Jeter might have represented the blue-collar people of New York, but Kobe is more about showtime, so we had to think of diamonds and gold."
If the price tags aren't a problem, you can shop the collection online now and at the Lakers store at the Staples Center on April 13.
