The influence that Levi’s has had on culture over the years is undeniable. In a three-part documentary, The 501® Jean: Stories of an Original, the iconic brand will tell the story of the garment’s rise to the style symbol it is today. The three episodes will cover Levi’s roots as utilitarian apparel for cowboys and industrial workers, the brand's shift towards fashion as Hollywood adopted the blue-collar look, and the denim company’s presence in the underground world of counterculture.

Still in production today, the 501® Jean remains to be a key staple of Levi’s product offering. “It was, and still is, the garment of the outlaw, the rock ‘n roller, the biker and the punk rocker,” says music icon Henry Rollins in the trailer released earlier this week. Rollins is just one of many famous faces—including Mark McNairy, Scott Schuman, Erin Wasson, Eddie Huang and more—that will be featured throughout the series.
