Since its debut, COS has become known for its pared-down and minimal aesthetic. Its collections typically embody the process of creating a full and cohesive wardrobe rather than statement pieces. But the brand's new pop-up shop in downtown Los Angeles, designed in partnership with Snarkitecture, is a statement in and of itself. Take a look at these photos. They're fucking nuts. Almost too beautiful if you ask me. Open today through the 15th, the shop really hits on that bare, streamlined and almost sterile feeling that COS champions. Snarkitecture and COS teamed up earlier this year for an installation in Milan that was well-received so they ran it back and cooked up another futuristic shopping experience that sort of looks straight out of 2001: A Space Odyssey. Even though it's not directly tied to the "future of shopping" or anything, Alex Mustonen and Daniel Arsham of Snarkitecture wanted to nail a new shopping experience. "We aimed to create a different experience and environment for the COS customer. We set up a space that plays with reflection, asking visitors to consider their relationship to not only the architectural surroundings but also to the pieces from the COS collection," the duo tells Four Pins. I just know that if I came in here, I would definitely walk into a mirror or two while tryna pop off a 'gram or two. Hopefully COS has insurance. If you're in L.A., head over to Austere at 912 S Hill St. and check it out for yourself.
