Not Available Lead

You knew this sort of thing was going to start happening as online fundraising platforms have become more and more popular. The teens are smart enough to realize that they can't afford the jawnz of their dreams on their own, so they have to enlist the help of their friends and family. Usually, that would be relegated to getting some birthday and Christmas stacks, saving up and eventually splurging on the piece you've been wanting since forever. Not anymore. One enterprising fellow launched a GoFundMe to cop his grail of grails: Rick Owens Geobasket sneakers.

Ethan Fredde wrote that his dream was to purchase the "absolute perfect shoe" for him and said they're "handmade in Italy by Rick Owens himself," which he admits on Reddit was sort of a joke and that no one was really supposed to see the listing in the first place. Though, I think he's a bit mistaken when he says "they are considered one of the best made, most comfortable shoes that are available today." I own three pairs of Dick Ovens and while they are fire, they're really not that comfortable at all. I guess if you want something bad enough, you'll convince yourself of just about anything.

Ethan got a handful of donations here and there until, on his actual birthday, someone dropped him a massive $670 donation (probably from his parents TBH), bringing him to his goal of $999. Granted, he did still have to pony up the exra $400 of his own money necessary to get them at retail. Honestly, he probably should have just hit up Grailed and scooped up some gently used joints. Either way, this only opens the floodgates for future strug lords to crowdfund their janwz and, honestly, that's awesome. After all, last time I checked, we're all broke with expensive taste.

UPDATE: Ethan's anonymous benefactor turned out to be his mom's ex-boyfriend. You can't make this shit up, folks.
