This week the San Francisco-based fashion label Betabrand announced that it has secured $15 million in funding from Morgan Stanley and Foundry Group, reports Venture Beat. The brand, mostly worn by those in the tech industry, first rose to fame with their Executive Hoodie—a mix blazer/hoodie hybrid that only Mark Zuckerberg types would dare to wear.

The investment shouldn’t come as a surprise given slouching denim sales and the rise of everyday comfortable athletic wear, and it brings the brands’ funding total to at least $29 million since its inception. The company isn't a typical fashion brand and utilizes a very forward thinking business model—it crowdsources designs and then jumps into production based on the styles that receive the most consumer interest. Adding to its non-typical approach, Betabrand also uses programmers and developers as its models.
