Last year, L.L. Bean had a ton of trouble keeping its signature Bean Boots in stock. Styles were backordered until April of this year and to prevent future backup, L.L. Bean worked to fix its manufacturing issues by investing in both more workers and manufacturing equipment. It even added a third shift to the workday so that their duck boots are essentially being made around the clock.

But, of course, it's happening again and it's only fucking September. Bloomberg reports that the company is still having trouble keeping up with demand for the boots. If you check out L.L. Bean's website and go through the sizes and widths, a bunch of them are already backordered, many scheduled to ship on November 9th. If you've got weirdly sized feet you may be in luck though, so act fast. As demand for the boots has ramped up, some people have even taken to eBay where a sizable secondary market is currently flourishing.

After selling 450,000 boots last year, the company anticipates 500,000 or more sales this year and since L.L. Bean refuses to outsource any of its manufacturing, that could mean a line longer than a Supreme drop just to get a pair of boots your dad swears by.
