UPDATE (8/18/15): The Herve Leger distributor who made terrible comments about the type of women who should avoid the brand's dresses has been fired, Fashionista reports.
Patrick Couderc's controversial interview with The Mail went viral and was quickly handled by BCBGMAXAZRIA, the group that owns Herve Leger, and the executive's employer MJH Fashion. "BCBGMAXAZRIA Group is working in concert with MJH Fashion, the London-based licensee of the Herve Leger brand, to investigate and establish appropriate next steps," the company said in a statement, according to Fashionista. "The statements made by Mr. Couderc are not a reflection of Herve Leger by Max Azria or MJH Fashion ideals or sentiments. The Herve Leger by Max Azria brand celebrates sensuality, glamour and femininity without discrimination." Today, the brand confirmed the good news that Couderc has been removed from his post.

If you're familiar with the bandage dress, it's probably because of pre-Kanye Kim Kardashian, who sported dresses from the dress's main producer Herve Leger constantly. However, according to one of the brand's UK managing directors, Patrick Couderc, says Kardashian may have been wrong for the dress the whole time, according to a bizarre interview he did with the Daily Mail.
In the interview, Couderc lashed out against customers who he doesn't believe should be wearing the body con dresses. Couderc first targeted “voluptuous" women and women with "very prominent hips and a very flat chest." He also said that he would prefer it if reality television stars didn't wear the body con dresses, and refuses to give dresses to women he believes aren't classy enough.
Couderc went on to make some hateful and ignorant comments about lesbians. "If you’re a committed lesbian and you are wearing trousers all your life, you won’t want to buy a Leger dress," he told The Mail. "Lesbians would want to be rather butch and leisurely."
The last demographic Couderc insulted was older women. "Yes, you have a 12th of an inch around your stomach, it’s not really a disaster, and what you’re not noticing is that your cleavage is about two inches too low because you are 55 and it’s time that you should not display everything like you’re 23," he said.
The group that owns Herve Leger BCBGMAXAZRIA have made a statement staunchly opposing Couderc's views, Jezebel reports. The company states that he is not an authorized spokesperson and is empoyed by MJH Fashion, the British distributor of the brand. The company is "shocked and appalled by Patrick Couderc’s comments made in the Mail on Sunday," according to Jezebel.
