Oregon is so renown for its hipster reputation that its Class A Chicago Cubs minor league affiliate, the Eugene Emeralds, took it to the next level and wore Portlandia-inspired uniforms at their game last night that consisted of plaid patterned tops complete with numbers on the back framed in the outline of the state of Oregon and what look like the most awful, terrible, vomit-inducing airbrushed baseball pants made to look like light wash jeans. Not only that, but the Pabst Blue Ribbons sold at the stadium even came in small brown bag coozies on turbo some life imitating art shit.

Minor league baseball is pretty fun because the teams always do fun, weird promotions and themed nights at the ballpark to drum up interest in their meaningless and boring professional sport, but this is just too far. Honestly, I feel sorry for the players. The sport is already loaded with small, but fire uniform and gear tweaks for players to rock unique, stylish looks on the diamond. Ain't no need to reinforce corny hipster stereotypes. Wow, I cannot believe I'm actually defending baseball right now. Moving on. Thankfully this was a one-night only situation.
