LONGJOURNEY Earns Its Wings for Spring/Summer 2016

You wouldn't be in the wrong if you felt like LONGJOURNEY's Spring/Summer 2016 collection seemed a little familiar. As designers Alex Carapetian and Alonzo Ester explained, the entire collection is based off the 1987 film Empire of the Sun, a film that focuses (in part) on World War II-era flight. From parachutes to prison uniforms, the entire collection's WWII aesthetic has been modernized and translated for today's menswear fanatic.

While the collection's title shares the same name as the 1987 film, you won't have to worry about looking like a 13-year-old Christian Bale. The collection's most unique fabric is one that looks like parachute nylon—represented in soft yellows, pinks, blues, grays, and translucent whites.
