Russell Westbrook: "I’m Trying to Create an Empire of Fashion"

Russell Westbrook is a known style enthusiast, so it's no surprise that he sees himself working in the fashion industry once his time in the NBA is over. The NBA star, who has been popping up all over Paris Fashion Weekspoke specifically about his post-basketball playbook with WWD

"I’m trying to create an empire of fashion," Westbrook tells WWD​. The OKC star wants to create his own fashion line and brand and he's studying the industry's best to figure out how. "People introduce me to different designers, different editors, different bloggers," he says. "I just sit back and watch how they do things."

Westbrook already stars in and creative directs his ads for True Religion, but there's also a possibility he could create his own line with the brand. Teresa Riva, TR's marketing director, could not say for sure whether he'll create his own collection, but did guarantee, "He’s definitely going to be a partner with us in the future."

Westbrook's other fashion ventures include creating a collection for Barneysunderwear brand Kings & Jaxs​, his own line of sunglasses, Westbrook Frames, and a sneaker for Jordan.
