Jidenna, dressed to the nines once again, rocked the BET Awards with his performance of his hit track, "Classic Man." But for those that may have missed it, Jidenna continued to pay tribute to the Civil Rights Movement and promote social justice with "I AM A CLASSIC MAN" signage:

The original sign goes back to the civil rights movement of the 1960s, specfically the "I AM A MAN" signs that were prevalent during events like the Memphis Sanitation strike of 1968, also known as the "I Am A Man" March.

Twitter noticed the parallels in the signage:

The "I Am A Classic Man" signs referring to the Civil Rights Movement are well done, @Jidenna. #BETAwards2015
I see what he did with the "I Am A Classic Man" signs pic.twitter.com/PWmXaUZr39
The signs inspired by the classic "I am a man" protest sign. I see yall.
