Four Pins 2014 Man of The Year and rapper du jour, Young Thug is not afraid to make even the most daring of fashion choices. Thugger does it all with impunity and fearlessness. That much is clear. During his Rodeo Tour earlier this year with Travi$ Scott, he rolled through New York City and debuted a super fucking lit poncho outfitted with 3M details. By all accounts, it's already the stuff of legend and The Fader got the behind the scenes look at how that poncho came to be.

The art director of 300 Entertainment, Young Thug's record label, Elijah Trinidad shared how it almost didn't make it to the stage. Originally, Thug's outfit was supposed to be a black Givenchy coat with "Thugger Thugger" on the back in blood, but due to the fact that he would straight up look like a vampire, they changed it at the last minute to a western-inspired poncho, matching the rodeo theme. Trinidad found a 100% alpaca poncho, had it overnighted and got to customizing it. Due to time constraints it had to be done by completely by hand—every 3M strip, which are red instead of silver, was done by a printer near Times Square and the skull logo was transferred from garment to garment.

Young Thug wore the poncho for every show of the tour after the New York date, saving it for his finale and has already started a poncho trend, with Future and Chris Brown having sported the look in the wake of his sheer influence. No homo we smokin ponchos!!!!
