Hood By Air is so routinely flagrant that it has become easy to pass every single one of Shayne Oliver's designs off as something you would not buy. Even if there are a couple hidden gems in each HBA collection, as there regularly are, you probably gloss over them without paying much attention. And I don't blame you. HBA really isn't my steez either. In fact, it's really like more like a cult than a brand at this point. Those who buy into it and aren't dissuaded by the likes of A$AP Rocky, really fucking buy into it. So, yeah, I try my damnedest to see if there's anything world-changing that I can bring to you, the reader. Luckily for us, there's at least one world-changing item this season and it's the $1,000 Timberland/Nike Huarache bastard child variation known as the "Avalanche Boot." This shit is a blend of, like, four different shoes in one: There's your standard Timberland boot, the Nike Huarache rubber heel counter, an Air Yeezy-like power strap across the laces and even a neoprene bootie in the mix as well. The coke white colorway is straight up fucking king shit, though it does come in your standard Timb wheat. Jian actually has a pair of those and for once in his life, he looks kind of cool when he wears them. These 100% look better on foot if you can believe it. And, I mean, if they can transform Jian from a swagless cornball to a somewhat edgy cornball, who knows what wonders these can work on you?
