In celebration of the symbiotic relationship between fashion and social media, the CFDA is releasing a new book titled "Designers on Instagram: #Fashion."
Set to drop next week, the project features over 250 Instagram photos from the accounts of CFDA designers, including Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, J Crew, Rag & Bone, and Ralph Lauren. The images, which were hand-selected by the council, are separated into five distinct chapters: "#Behind the Seams,” “#Selfies,” “#Inspiration," "#Fashion," and "#TBT."
Instagram CEO and co-founder Kevin Systrom, who will also get the 2015 CFDA Media Award, wrote the foreword for the book—highlighting Instagram’s pivotal role within the industry. From fashion shows to street style pictures, this book gives readers an in-depth look at the business, which was so often deemed exclusive before social media went mainstream.
