New Balance 997s are unimpeachable. Actually, scratch that. They do have one glaring issue: they cost $200. Now, I understand that we've written about sneakers and assorted footwear that costs up to $1,300, but when it comes to more standard issue kicks, $200 is a lot. That's more than the latest pairs of "remastered" Jordans, which probably have a lot more clout in these streets than a pair of geriatric specials. Either way, these 997s are incredible. The rare colorway of grey and burgundy is firmly of the "understated, but fire" variety, the official name being "Connoisseur Guitar" and is part of a larger NB "Connoisseur" pack that has regularly supplied us with dope 997 colorways. This is the best one though. Grey and burgundy just go so well together with levels of sophistication so high that we should be probably outlawed from wearing them. These would go perfect with those casual trousers you've been trying to pull off for months—a look that's on a thousand, but only costs 1/5 of that.
