KITH is launching the Tokyo Sakura Project, which draws from traditional Japanese styles and includes collaborations with John Elliott + Co. and Puma.
The new line includes a staple of basics, including hoodies, crewneck sweaters, and Oxford shirts, all tweaked with details pulled from Japanese garments. The hoodie is styled like a noragi, with a single tie in the front and a slightly oversized fit, the crewnecks are multi-paneled, and the Oxford utilizes a zip closure in the front instead of the more traditional buttons. The collection also includes a pair of tech shorts and compression pants.
John Elliott + Co brings its most popular items to the table for the collaboration, featuring all new versions of its Escobar sweatpants, Mercer tee, and Villain hoodie. John Elliott is known for creating unique fabrics for his own lines, and this collaboration also uses a custom-made French terry made especially for KITH. The styles come in colorways, like heather grey with a contrasting burgundy reverse knit, and a speckled navy with white on the reverse side, never before used by JE.
Also featured in the collection are the recently KITH x Puma collaborative sneakers. The bold kicks rework the footwear brand's R698, and include a whole new model designed by KITH founder Ronnie Fieg.
The entire collection goes on sale at KITH locations and its online store this Saturday, March 28, at 11 a.m. EST.
