Amazon Might Buy Net-a-Porter

None

Amazon basically sells everything you would ever need, but it's been lacking in one area: FASHION. Amazon's fashion selection has been, for lack of better term, trash or garbage or bad or not good. It has made a dedicated effort to improve things however, bringing in some better brands and working to integrate its third party shopping platforms, Shopbop and East Dane, the latter of which is serving as a major sponsor of the upcoming NYFW: Men's. But you know what would really up the ante for Amazon's fashion aspirations? Buying Net-a-Porter, which, WWD reports, might be happening.

Let me throw on my clip-on tie to break down this potential acquisition deal. *Walks up to microphone, clears throat* This would be dope. Amazon and its fashion initiatives feel (and look) bland. Net-a-Porter is the opposite of bland. Net-a-Porter and, by proxy, Mr. Porter, are clean, stocked with some of the best brands in the world and provide great value on things like presentation, shipping and returns, which is something Amazon also focuses on. Point being, this lines up pretty damn well if you ask me, armchair analyst. The estimates of Net-a-Porter's value are around $2 billion, which is a whole lot of coin, but, I mean, this is Amazon we're talking about, a company whose revenue was roughly $89 billion last year. I think they can swing this one. Can you even imagine Amazon Prime applying to Mr. Porter orders, all the while offering competitive prices on fire jawnz? It's all a dream world that we'll hopefully be living in soon.
