In comparison to the European fashion weeks, New York feels a bit more utilitarian. The shows are a bit less dramatic and extravagant and maybe because we're used to efficiency in the States, even though shows still start 30 minutes late. Designs are a bit more wearable over here and a fair amount less artistic. The ridiculous art projects of London and Paris are nowhere to be found in New York. And while this fashion week was pretty much defined by Kanye presenting his own collection and attending a few other shows in between, which, granted, was all a bit theatrical in its own right, the fashion on display was pretty great. Let's take a look.
