Following its Spring/Summer 2015 presentation at London Collections: Men last year, Baartmans & Siegel returns to our pages with a new lookbook for the upcoming season.

Aptly titled “Platoon,” this collection draws inspiration from English sports teams and street gangs, as well as the environment in which they live. The emphasis on utility and masculinity—presented among sports- and military-inspired designs—is executed with a touch of lighthearted luxury by way of top-tier fabrics and unique silhouettes.

Classic items like overcoats, reversible tank jackets, and button army shirts are reinterpreted with functional details and construction, like water-resistant fabrics, breathable nylon linings, and detachable hoods. Clearly, designers Amber Siegel and Wouter Baartmans wanted to create a line that would combat the fickle weather of an English summer.

In addition to the threads, this collection also delivers two collaborative ouputs: one is a handcrafted eyewear line made in partnership with Fanoptics, and the other is two-style footwear release with Kickers; both of which underscore the performance-meets-luxury aesthetic of the range.

Check out Baartmans & Siegel’s Spring/Summer 2015 lookbook below. And be sure to keep your eye out for “Platoon’s” official drop at select retailers.
