Apple has the resources to hire any photographer and artist in the world to promote their products, so it's awesome to see that they sometimes give the little guys a chance to shine. The company commissioned a group of artists to create works using apps and features exclusive to the iPad Air 2, iMac, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

Craig & Karl, Roz Hall, Alistair Taylor-Young, Universal Everything, Jules Julien, Chad Riley, Jimmy Chin, Jared Chambers, Christian Weber, Jingyao Guo, Marcelo Gomes, Nomoco, and Austin Mann used Brushes Redux, Slow Shutter, iDraw, VSCO Cam©, Waterlogue, and other applications to draw portraits, create paintings, film videos, and take and edit photographs. The works were then posted onto Apple's "Start Something New" gallery as examples of what the apps are capable of.

The creatives commissioned for the project aren't exactly amateurs, but it was a smart call for Apple to hire less famous people to promote the apps to the millions of amateurs who purchase their products. There are lots of other great apps for people who love art (also a few to make your 'Gram more artistic), so don't think that you are limited to the ones that they used.

Head to the "Start Something New" page to see more of the art and to learn more about the applications.
