According to End, these are the first New Balances to break the 100 GBP barrier. I don't know if that's a hallmark that I would necessarily lead off with, but it's certainly impressive in some right. The best New Balance releases are the most boring. That's because what makes a New Balance model great is just how fucking boring they are. The best ones are just comfortable, plain, utilitarian shoes. They're pretty much great in the same sense that really old, covered bridges are great. Their utilitarianism is the source of their beauty, which is something I always try to tell my girlfriend. My face is so good at the utility of getting food into my stomach and digesting it that it's straight up fucking gorgeous.
