It's very tempting to drop a bunch of boxing references into this post, but I'll do my best to suppress my innate corniness. It would be really easy to call this collabo a "knockout" or say it goes "ten rounds deep," but Aimé Leon Dore x Kith deserves much better than that. The black and oxblood color scheme pretty well represents boxing as a whole, with blood and black eyes and all that sort of violent shit that comes with two grown men beating the shit out of each other for sport. Everything in the 10-piece collection is essentially a new and improved version of previous items. The hoodie takes the Kith frayed hoodie and adds ALD's signature thermal waffle lining, as does the Roosevelt pant, which functions less as a typical sweatpant, losing the cinch cuff in favor of a more cropped look. One of the standouts from Aimé Leon Dore's first collection, the thermal robe gets an update as well, with two buttons on the front. This is all pretty much the uniform for the cold months here at the Complex offices. Throw on some thermal-lined joints that defy the typical "sweatsuit" look and brave the walk to and from the train. Also included are two new Asics models exclusively for Kith: all-black leather GT-IIs and Gel Lyte Vs. The entire Aimé Leon Dore x Kith collection will be dropping online and in-store at Kith Manhattan tomorrow, January 9th.
