Last week, a New York grand jury's decision not to indict the police officer responsible for the chokehold death of Eric Garner outraged Americans across the nation, prompting hundreds to take to the streets. Today, the world witnessed the largest gathering in more than a week of demonstrations. Hundreds of thousands of people flooded the roads of Lower and Midtown Manhattan for the "Millions March NYC" protest. The event was especially moving not only because of the turnout but also a few images that lead the march. Parisian artist JR created a few pieces depicting the eyes of past victims of police brutality, which demonstrators carried throughout the event. We can't think of a more fitting image to condemn the recent injustices.
