Since launching his first line in 2013, John Elliott has quickly become one of the country’s most revered and celebrated menswear designers. His minimalist take on cozy-boy essentials have resulted in a handful of collaborative projects as well as accolades, such as being named one of GQ’s Best New Menswear Designers in America. However, Elliott isn’t one to rest on his laurels as he is constantly finding new ways to present his signature garments. His latest twist? Incorporating Japanese vintage fleece.

After visiting Wakayama’s loopwheel factories in search of rare textiles, Elliott decided he’d create a capsule collection in which his customary French terry and jersey fabrics were replaced by Japanese fleece. The material, which is produced on loopwheel machines dating back to the 1940s, is a long-lasting fabric with a heavier and more durable feel. Brand favorites like the slim-fit Escobar sweatpant and the side-zip Hooded Villain sweatshirt are featured in the six-piece range, which officially launched today.
