Over the course of the past few months, many have defined, pondered over, and even penned essays on what it means to be a "basic bitch." The Cut defines it as she who owns "Uggs and North Face and leggings," while Kreayshawn thinks it simply refers to a girl who "likes those normal brands and wears them all the time because that’s some basic shit."
As a result, we've become well-acquainted with the tired old phrase, as well as its sartorial affiliations and the plethora of "#OOTD selfies" clogging up our Instagram feeds.
Inspired by the "basic bitch" phenomenon, someone decided to create an Instagram account, poking fun at some of the most overdone "basic" Instagram photos out there. Aptly entitled "Bros Being Basic," it sees a group of guys re-staging and documenting funny shots of men posing in front of the mirror or with their glasses of red wine, among other funny shots.
