Nowadays, hair removal is a normal thing among both men and women, although many men still haven’t gotten used to the level of pain incurred by waxing. Over in Korea though, a new trend is emerging—hair transplants, and not on your head.

According to the Korean Association of Medical Journal Editors, there is an actual disorder called “pubic atrichosis” which refers to one's perceived inefficiencies about the amount of hair in their pubic region.  A Korean clinic called Renaissance estimates that up to 10 percent of Korean women have it, and that some even suffer from psychological stress as a result.

Luckily, for those who suffer from this disorder, there is such a thing as pubic hair transplants. The procedure costs a cool $2,000 and is increasing in popularity, with the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery reporting demand for the procedure increasing by 160 percent between 2010 and 2012. You can even choose your own shape, with the “shield” and the “fan” being two of the most popular in Korea at the moment. You can't make this stuff up.

So next time you might be feeling inadequate about the amount of hair you have down there, know that (a) you’re not alone, and (b) there’s hope.
