Though regarded as one of the most heavenly places on earth, Victoria’s Secret isn’t safe from corruption.

Last Friday, police arrested a Florida woman who was accused of stealing $53,000-worth of merchandise from the lingerie retailer. But such a scam wasn't executed in a single raid or a with the help of an elaborate crime ring; this woman jacked the store by basically selling its own underwear back to itself over the course of one year.

According to law enforcement, 29-year-old Nathilia N. Hooks was shoplifting items from various Florida stores and returning them for higher-priced merchandise—paying the difference with her debit card. Following the transaction, Hooks would then go to another Victoria’s Secret store, with receipt in hand, and request a full refund to the same card.

It was a simple but effective scam that went unnoticed since 2013.

Hooks was booked into Miami-Dade County Jail facing charges of retail theft, grand theft, organized fraud and money laundering.
