Contrary to popular belief, we're not here to shit on people trying to get into fashion. I know it may seem like it at times, but that's really not what we're about. But with fashion becoming increasingly democratized and a number of tech companies attempting to get into the space, the rate of follies, faux pas and general fuck ups is at an all time high. Which brings me to this story about MTailor over at Buzzfeed.

In short: The app lets your iPhone or iPad scan your body while you wear tight-fitting clothes and spits out an algorithm to craft the perfect shirt for your body. Sounds pretty good in practice—let the app do the work, using super smart camera technology so you don't need someone to measure your awkward curves. Maybe you're insecure and have more than a pair of love handles. Or you'd just rather have HAL 9000 take a look at you with non-judging computer eyes. I get it. But, based on the final result seen here, it doesn't look like the final product compensates for any movement whatsoever.

Seriously, a message for the writer, Matt: When the commenters of Buzzfeed get at your throat because the shirt doesn't fit, you know you have a problem. Imagine if we let the Four Pins commenters loose on your post. Shit would get ugly real fucking quick. And if the three shirts you bought all fit like this one, you might want to go opposite of the Silicon Valley route and head to your local tailor for a human measurement rather than relying on an app. It's not your fault.

Here's the thing for all you guys out there who might have weirdly shaped bodies: There are literally dozens of online MTM shirt services out there waiting for you to use them. Seriously, just Google it. But beware, you don't wanna end up looking like a freshly encased sausage fresh out the factory.
