For the month of November, artist development program Red Bull Sound Select is putting on one show each night in Los Angeles (yes, that means 30 shows total). For "30 Days in L.A.," 60 artists will perform at venues all over the city of Los Angeles, which are being tailored to each bill. Many of the shows offer a lot more than your typical concert, including a "Wax on Wax" vinyl DJ night at Madame Tussauds and a Koreatown karaoke throwdown.
So how do you make an event iconic and memorable, even for people who can't be there? One way is through poster art, and Sound Select has commissioned top visual artists and designers to create unique, in-depth images for each night. All are directly inspired by the music each act makes, as artist Lawrence Azerrad explains to us for 14 posters he's made for the month-long event.
For those who can make it, the first 50 fans through the door at each "30 Days in L.A." show get an exclusive artwork from that evening’s event.
