To coincide with the release of the new film, Paramount Pictures launched a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles art project titled "Legend of the Yokai." The initiative tells a story of the Kappa Yokai, four "ancient turtle warriors" sworn to protect a small village from an evil warlord while abiding by the principles of honor, wisdom, courage and brotherhood, and it does so with dynamic artwork created by 30 artists from around the world. The roster includes Anthony Lister, Rone, Sam Gilbey, Saner, Tomer Hanuka, and lots of other great artists, and we're pleased to debut artwork by French illustrator Nicolas Delort.

The award-winning illustrator drew all four turtles in a scene outside of the sewers and the city, learning from the wise Master Splinter. The entire piece is filled with lots of energy and detail, from how the trees draw your focus to the center to the incredible cross-hatching to the falling precipitation. Check out the progress shots of the piece below, and head to LegendoftheYokai.com for more great artwork.
