A fashion show organized by a 10-year-old Russian girl features models between the ages of 10 and 12 donning the colors of different countries and brandishing guns on the runway. The fashion show addresses the ongoing tussle for control over former Ukrainian territory Crimea between Russia and Ukraine.

For those who don't know, Russia took advantage of the Ukrainian interim government that was formed earlier this year as a result of the Ukrainian Revolution. Russia claimed the government was illegitimate and promptly invaded Crimea with armed forces, and have allegedly provided weapons to Ukrainian separatists. This fashion show is indicative of how the Russian media, despite their responsibility in the crisis, is propagating Pro-Russian sentiments.

Everyone from the United States to Russia is represented in this fashion show, but the focus is on the girl representing the Ukraine in yellow and gold, who first points her gun at the girls wearing Russia and the United States’ colors, respectively, before turning the gun to her own head. A harrowing scene where the girl representing the Ukraine points a gun at both the American and Russian representatives seem to depict Russia's attitude toward the relationship. They are positioned at gunpoint as the victims in the situation. Critics say that Russian propaganda paints Ukraine leaders as fascists and claims that the Ukraine is killing its own people. The latter point would explain why when the girl in gold and blue goes to take her own life, the rest of the countries are seen saving her from herself.

The girl responsible for the show, Alita Andrishevskaya, who wears Russia’s colors in this production, claims that the theme of her show was “children of the world against the war.” “The author wanted to draw the attention to the idea of the peace in the whole world,” said the presenter at the event.

If this bizarre spectacle is how the people in Russia show peace, then count us out. Watch the video below to witness the whole wild scene for yourself.
