German photographer Michel Lamoller's latest photo series tests possibilities of merging several moments in time into one image. "Tautochronos" ("tauto" meaning "same," and "chrono" meaning "time") depicts figures melting into their environments.
The ongoing project is created by multiple physical prints, cut with a scalpel, and layered carefully into an environment before being captured in a final photo. The deconstructed figures in the resulting photographs act as a visual reminder that people are always changing.Â
"I work with photography in an experimental, sculptural way. The illusion of space provided by photos enter a dialogue with the new, real three-dimensional space that is manually cut into the image," Lamoller told ArtICurate.
Lamoller's previous works have been featured at high-profile galleries across Europe.
