When you have more money than you can spend in a lifetime, buying lavish properties is usually the way to go. British artist Damien Hirst is the wealthiest artist in the world with an estimated net worth north of $350 million. Hirst bought a 300-room Gothic mansion back in 2005 as a fixer-upper for £3m, but apparently he needed more space, because he recently got another (more modest) mansion in London for over 10 times the price.

Located in Regent's Park, the 19th century home known as Hanover Terrace was built in 1822 by John Nash, the famed architect who also built the Royal Pavilion. According to the Telegraph, the property has 14 bedrooms, five storeys, a mews house and cottage, a half-acre garden, and every other feature that you can imagine a £34 million/$56 million terraced mansion having. The house is said to have hosted royalty including Princess Diana, and a member of a "Dutch private banking dynasty" called the mansion home for 45 years. Hirst doesn't exactly run in those circles, but he would be crazy if he didn't throw some pretty spectacular parties in the space.
