Twitter may be jumping on the “Buy now” bandwagon.
According to a report by the Los Angeles Times earlier this week, the social media’s mobile app briefly displayed a “Buy now” button for several tweets associated with the web-based store The Fancy—purveyor of apparel, accessories, home goods, and electronics.
Though the buttons weren’t functional, social media experts believe the incident was either experimental or accidental. (Cue the collective "duh.")
With Twitter representatives declining to comment on the speculations, there’s no guarantee it will become a permanent fixture for the site. Which might be a good thing, considering our generation’s biggest vices include shopping and social media.
