The North West Walls Festivalinvited Belgian street artist ROA to design a mural for their event in the city of Werchter. His provocative contribution is as imaginative as it is heart-wrenching. The towering piece features forlorn, angry, and defeated animals trapped behind bars or held down by chains. The animals are depicted on cargo containers, which are stacked on top of one another, creating a dizzying effect. The somber color palette of grays, black, and sea foam green makes the images that much more dreary.
