When you're listening to Kanye West or Tupac, classic art probably isn't the first thing that comes to mind. However, it turns out rap and art history actually mesh together much better than you may think. Just see Gisella Velasco and Toni Potenciano's Fly Art Productions for proof.

A clever project born out of boredom and the Internet (as most things often are), Fly Art matches rap verses with classic paintings—a trend Velasco and Potenciano has observed in a number of Tumblrs such as Swoosh Art and Carter Family Portraits. Their project is unique in that it perfectly pairs some of the sickest verses we all know and love with art that may have not seemed all that relevant before. Simply put, the project is a celebration of "two of the finer things in life," according to Fly Art Productions.
