Russell Westbrook's unique, out-there sense of style has caught the attention of luxury retailer Barneys New York. The store has teamed up with the Oklahoma City point guard on an upcoming sportswear and accessories collection slated for a July debut.
This isn't just any old collection, though. Titled Westbrook XO Barneys New York (Westbrook Exclusively Ours Barneys New York), it will feature items designed by Nike Jordan, Marcelo Burlon, Naked & Famous, Del Toro, Want Les Essentiels, Selima Optique, and Globe Trotter.
“I’m kind of like a designer,” Westbrook told WWD. “My personal style changes every season. I never wear the same shirt twice. Maybe I’ll wear jeans more than once. But some of the things I wear are loud, so once I wear them, that’s it. I give them away to friends or family.”
The Westbrook XO Barneys New York collection will offer eyewear, leather goods, denim, footwear, luggage, and possibly more items in the near future. Barneys will showcase the line on the eighth floor of its New York City flagship store but also carry it in its other locations and online.
“I definitely would want to see a Westbrook brand in clothing,” he said. "The Barneys collaboration is a big step in that direction."
