Filmmaker Matt Black launched his "Reflection" interview series back in 2011 when he chatted with celebrity tattoo artist Scott Campbell about inking the stars and creating fine art with lasers and paper money. For the latest installment, Black sat down with Jeff Koons ahead of his Whitney Museum retrospective to talk about his introduction to art, his early influences, and how living in New York shifted his focus. "I really wanted to move into the objective," says Koons. "I did not want to paint what I dreamt the night before, I wanted to be involved with a more universal vocabulary."

Koons also talks about how the "activity of art connects you to all the human disciplines." Check out the short video above and head over to Nowness to learn more about Black's "Reflection" series.
