Las Vegas-based artist Albert F. Montoyahas given everyone's favorite cartoon characters a grisly makeover. His series “Zombie Sense” re-imagines pop culture icons, from Bart Simpson to Batman, as partially decaying bloodthirsty zombies. While these illustrations are in general morose, the drawings depicting heroes—those we rely on to save humanity from evil—are by far the most disturbing. But, strangely, the creepy dimension Montoya creates is also somehow pleasing.
