It’s a known rule among the fashion world that pairing socks with sandals should be avoided at all costs.
But rules were made to be broken. Especially when said sandals are the iconic Adilette Slides by adidas Originals.
Nodding to the West Coast street style of the 1990s, adidas has continued its support of this so-called “faux pas” by releasing its #SOCKSNSLIDES 2014 lookbook. Shot by fledging fashion photographer Michael Mayren, the collection of images highlight the sportswear brand’s classic trefoil white socks and its three-stripe pool slide design.
Though we should know better, this throwback trend is hard to ignore. Check out the lookbook in the images below, and you’ll see just why so many people are caving in.
