On a basic level, most people know how tattoos work: you have a machine with a fast motor that pushes a ink-carrying needle into your dermis. Knowing how it works and seeing it up close are two completely different things.
This video and GIFs below (courtesy of Designboom) of Paris-based artist GueT captures the process in super slow-motion, revealing every puncture of the needle and every ripple of the client's skin. Some people may be grossed out by the footage, but we think it shows just how involved and cool skin art is. The machine is impressive, but it clearly takes a lot of skill to control it and achieve such awesome results.
