Macklemore Defends the Controversial Outfit He Wore at a Secret Show

Macklemore has penned an explanation of the controversial outfit he wore that was deemed a stereotype of a Jewish man and, thus, "offensive." 

The rapper caught flack for wearing the outfit—silk shirt, black suit, wig and beard, and fake hooked nose—onstage at his show in Seattle. The day after his show, Macklemore defended his costume, saying, "A fake witches nose, wig, and beard = random costume. Not my idea of a stereotype of anybody." 

The latest on his website, posted on Monday, gives a more in-depth statement. According to him, the outfit was only intended to be a disguise so that he could walk around "unnoticed" and "surprise the crowd with a short performance." Read the entire note below:
