Tyler, The Creator continues to build his portfolio with creative projects that extend beyond rapping and producing. From creating art for Kanye West, to directing commercials for Mountain Dew, Tyler has shown that he has a lot to offer artistically, and this photo shoot for Oyster Mag is further proof of that.
Tyler got the opportunity to shoot and editorial with up-and-coming Belgian model Stephanie Bertram Rose (aka Rose Bertram) for Oyster 104: The Exposed Issue, with additional photos taken by Odd Future photographer Brick Stowell. In an interview, Rose said that she and Tyler have known each other for three years. The rapper once posted a photo of her on his Tumblr to find out who she was, and they started communicating online until they met in person in Belgium and became friends. "Whenever we travel and we're in the same city we always do fun stuff," she says. "He's kind of crazy and so am I."
The comfort level between the photographer and his subject shows in the photos they took together. The photo shoot is more like two friends hanging out with a camera and less like a model taking commands, but the resulting images (and Rose) still look great.
