French street artist OakOak’s latest piece features a forlorn-looking polar bear trapped in a garbage can. Protect Polar Bears! can be found in Paris and is not plastered against a façade, but instead interacts with its environment.
The work is protected by a canopy of trash, a reminder of how we are destroying out planet. The polar bear is trapped in an ever-shrinking cage created by man’s wastefulness, and unless there is a swift change in energy policy, the polar bears will surely die. “The survival and protection of polar bear’s habitat are urgent issues,” according to the World Wildlife Fund.
