New York has by far the best subway entertainment, thanks in part to the W.A.F.F.L.E. Crew (We Are Family For Life Entertainment). If you’ve ever witnessed kids with a boombox perform stunt-like dance moves, then you’ve probably seen them.
The short film Between 14th & Bedford: NY Subway Dancers, directed by London-based Mollie Mills, offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the lives of these young performers. While their routines are a way to make money (they are sometimes the primary bread-winners in their families), for many of them, dancing is also a passion.
