The exhibition "Genesis 2014" is classic in every sense of the word.

American artistDan Hernandez has combined classic Greco-Roman fresco painting techniques with “classic” video game imagery — think invading aliens, multi-colored lasers, and castles in the sky. His high-art/play station mash-ups are witty and light-hearted, but also insightful. They call attention to the visual similarities between early Renaissance art and original 8-bit video game graphics.

“Genesis 2014” is currently on view at the Kim Foster Gallery in New York and will be open through April 26.
