It looks like graffiti writers CETE and VEW are committed to bringing back the art of subway bombing in New York. Back in December, the duo painted a Spy vs. Spy theme on a R train, now they are back with a B train piece that features CETE's name, the name of VEW's crew (GI), and the white painter character from the Pink Panther cartoons.

In an interview with ANIMAL, the artists cited writers including DONDI, How & Nosm, COPE2, GHOST, and Tats Cru as inspiration, referring to them as the "true meaning of what a graffiti writer is.” Despite the fact that the MTA would never knowingly run trains with graffiti on them, CETE and VEW are determined to keep the practice alive. "Graff started on trains first. Streets are overrated with hippy street art. It’s not about fame or money. I’m keeping graff raw and rugged, no watered down shit you see today.”

We'll see how many artists follow in their footsteps.
