Australia-based artist Sam Jinks’ latest project is an experiment in emotional vulnerability. Using silicone, calcium carbonate, resin, and fiberglass, this fearless artist has created and put on display scenes one might typically describe as “private moments”: a sleeping pre-pubescent boy, a grieving son, pillow talk. Jinks leaves no stage in the human life-cycle untouched; he has accounted for personal moments in every walk of life. His sculptures capture the harshness of reality in forms that are incredibly life-like, thus engaging the viewer in an eerily intimate way.
